Lizzie Marie Strickland

Lizzie Marie Strickland, age 83, of Cottondale, Ala., died May 20, 2017, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Herb Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J. R. and Dollie Reach and husband, Dwight O. Strickland.

Survivors include her daughter, Paula S. Driggers (Randy) of New Orleans, La.; son, Richard O. Strickland (Tracey) of Duncanville, Ala.; sisters, Annette Anderson of Vance, Ala. and Lunnette Hallman (Jimmy) of Northport, Ala.; brothers, Jerry Nim Reach (Dean) of Vance, Ala., Commodore Reach (Ola Ree) of Vance, Ala. and Frank Reach (Eloyce) of Vance, Ala.; grandchildren, Simona Hobson (Michael), Amanda Driggers and Marc Driggers; three step grandchildren, Jason Strickland (Chelsea), Andrew Strickland and Justin Strickland; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was a loving mom, wife, grandmother and friend. She loved to work in her yard. She will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Averett, Josh Averett, Trey Averett, Jason Strickland, Dennis Reach, Andy Reach, Eli Howard and Michael Hobson.

Honorary pallbearers are members of Circlewood Baptist Church and the nurses on MICU and 4th floor at DCH Regional Medical Center.
