COTTONDALE - Kenneth E. ""Kenny"" Johnson, age 77, of Cottondale, Ala., passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center after an extended battle with cancer. Services will be 3 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. A committal service will follow at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Mr. Johnson was born on July 19, 1940 in Moundville, Ala. He was the son of the late, Thomas E. and Elzora H. Johnson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Wayne Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cathy Davis Johnson; three children, Kevin Johnson of Prattville, Kaye Gaither (John) and Kirk Johnson; two brothers, Donald H. Johnson (Chris) and Wallace B. Johnson (Delores), all of Cottondale; three grandchildren, Robyn Ash (Matt), Garrett Butler and Chase Johnson; and three great-grandsons, Grayson, Preston and Lawson Ash.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center at DCH.
