George Thomas Hauser

George Thomas Hauser, age 89, passed away October 24, 2019 at his home at Pine Valley Retirement Home. Visitation will be at 11:00 am on Monday at the Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, George A. and Sarah Hauser.

Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Marie Hauser, his daughter, Karen H Mears (Steven) of Tennessee, his son George Thomas Hauser, Jr. (Becci) of Alabama and his cousin who was like his sister, Carole Gwynn of Florida; along with his three granddaughters, Morgan Grace Mears, Alexandria Leigh House (Warner) and Catherine Grace Hauser.

George was born in New York, New York on February 7, 1930 and grew up in Caldwell New Jersey. After graduating from High School, he went to Clemson University Military College and graduated with a major in Textile Industries. George served in the Army and was promoted to 1st Lieutenant. He married Barbara Marie Barone May 3, 1958. They lived in Arlington Heights IL. For a few years and then moved to Nashville, Tennessee where they lived for 57 years. His career was a salesman for Delta Thread Company.

George loved people and never met a stranger. He knew everyone by name. His quick wit and funny sense of humor made for many wonderful stories throughout his life. He was a loving husband, father and Pop Pop and will be deeply missed.
