TUSCALOOSA - Edward Charles Moshier, age 75, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away December 2, 2019 at his residence. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2019, at Memory Chapel with Rev. Anderson Walker officiating. Private burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Mr. Moshier was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents, Harry and Hazel Moshier; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Ray Northam; and daughter, Michelle Basinski.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Moshier; daughters, Robin Wrobel (Syl) of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Tammy Moshier (Mark) of Ransomville, NY; grandchildren, Jamie Hakes (Brandon), Paige Walker (David), Colt Wrobel, Sharly Lovitt, Raeann Moshier, and Benton Moshier.
Edward Charles Moshier was born in Maywood, California on May 13, 1944. His family traveled a lot until they settled in Lockport, NY in the mid-50s. He graduated from Starpoint in 1962. He met his wife that summer while working at a five and dime store. Shortly after, he joined the Navy. They were married on November 24th that year. They went on to have their first daughter the following winter and had their second the summer of 1966. He went inactive in the Navy for the next two years before being discharged. He began working for General Motors in 1967 and welcomed their final daughter winter of 1971 on their 9th wedding anniversary. He spent most of his free time with family and friends. He enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles. He transferred with General Motors to Tuscaloosa, Ala. in 1991 and retired in 1998 after 31 years. Through the years they have had six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. They have traveled to many places and been to almost 50 states. Edward left this world peacefully at home while holding the hand of his wife of 57 years.
Pallbearers will be Carl Hakes, Brandon Hakes, Charles Hakes, Victor Cruse, Tom Barnette, and Adrian Newson.
Honorary pallbearers are Paul Gurski, Bruce Brussard, Richard Wallace and Family, Danny Harrel, Men’s Breakfast Club, DCH Maderson Cancer Center, Michigan Families, Star Tour & Riding, Moose Family Lodge and Elks Lodge.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oasis Hospice.
