Danny Lee Nix

A Graveside Funeral Service, with Military Honors, will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 11:30AM from Memory Hill Gardens, Garden of the Christus. Services will be officiated by Eddie Abston and under the direction of Memory Chapel, a Dignity Memorial provider.

Danny was a graduate of Holt High School, Class of 1974. He enlisted with the United States Air Force and served his country proudly. After his military service ended, he was later employed by the Naval Shipyards based in Jacksonville, FL.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Clifton T. and Thelma (Hughes) Nix of Tuscaloosa and Gertie Parker of Tuscaloosa and Dewey Hill of Russellville, Kentucky; and his parents Joe D. and Betty (Hill) Nix of Tuscaloosa.

He is survived by his sisters Donna Nix of Tuscaloosa, Dena (Eddie) Abston of Gilbertown, AL and Diana (Terry) Carney of Chatom, Alabama; nephews Bryant Abston and Joseph Carney; nieces Misty Abston McCay and Kristi Nix (Jim) Crowell; great-neices Mary Kathryn, Brookly and Sophia McCay and Cara, Evie Nora and Rory Crowell.

The family wishes to recognize and give special thanks to Danny’s special friend Phyllis Crocker, George Lovelace, Jr. and his neighbors on Farris Drive.
