Clifton Derek Logan

Derek Logan passed on to his eternal home on September 7, 2023, at 83 years of age after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Louise Davis Logan as well as his parents: Clifton R. Logan and Frances Hardin Logan. He is survived by his children: Brian Logan, Cindy Abston Dailey (Roy) and Jeffrey Logan (Amy); grandchildren: Caity Barger, Logan Keene, Austin Logan and great-grandchild, Joseph Moore; sister: Angie Lancaster (Al) and many other beloved family members.

Derek was a life-time member of Holten Heights Church of The Nazarene. He graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1957 and was a veteran of The U.S. Army. He retired from the City of Tuscaloosa Water Works Department as well as The University of Alabama. For the last 30 years, he has worked part-time with Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority (PARA).

Most recently, he enjoyed working all athletic events for The University of Alabama.

Derek was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. He loved joining life-long friends to reminisce the West End days (WEYC). He loved his family with all his heart but first and foremost, he served his Lord and Savior. He had a servant's heart.

A Memorial Service for Derek will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Holten Heights Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will begin at 2pm with a Service following at 3pm.
