Bobby Dean Goff

Bobby was born on August 17, 1960 in Chicago, IL to Ivy Mae (Hocutt) Grzala and the late Bobby “Gene” Goff.

Bobby was predeceased in death by his father, Gene Goff, and his brothers Eugene Goff and Robert Goff.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Lula (Barrentine) Goff, and their children - son, Jonathan Dean Goff, daughter Lisa Marie (Goff) Robertson and son-in-law, J.R. Robertson, and grandson James William Robertson, III. He is also survived by his parents, Ivy and Dave Grzala and siblings, David (Susan) Grzala, Hattie (Dale) McWhirt, Paula (Mike) Hyde, Melody Barrentine and in-laws Jakey (Deborah) Barrentine, Sissie Traweek, and Teresa Turner. He also had many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was a devoted husband, father, papa, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. While his love for his family was unconditional, it should be especially noted that being a papa to James was one of his greatest joys. He was blessed with a large and loving family and lifelong friends. Bobby leaves a legacy of lasting memories defined by unconditional love, compassion, understanding, life lessons and dedication. All that knew him knew his love of the Lord and his family, spreading joy, and that he always had a smile to share. He would have willingly and happily given anything he had to anyone. He was an avid fisherman and hunter with a passion for the outdoors and animals. He just loved being out in nature, especially on the boat.

Bobby enlisted in the Army/National Guard in 1978 and served his country for 16 years. After his military service he retired as Maintenance Lead from PECO Foods after 29 years of dedicated service.

Bobby’s faith was an essential part of his life. He served as Deacon for many years under Brother Larry Colburn. He was a Master Mason and a member of J. Collier Foster No. 906 of F & AM of the Grand Lodge of Alabama.

Services will be held at Phillips Chapel Freewill Baptist Church on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 2:00pm. Visitation will be from 1:00pm – 2:00pm.
