Mrs. Maria A. Fagundes, age 79 “Entered into Rest” on Saturday, September 5,2015 at her El Nido, CA Residence with her family by her side. Mrs. Fagundes was born in Canada da Ajuda, Santa Barbara, Terceira, Azores and has lived in El Nido, CA for 14 years. She was a homemaker for 49 years and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Turlock, CA and P.F.S.A. Fraternal Council No. 26 of Stevinson/Turlock/Hilmar. Mrs. Fagundes is survived by her Husband Jose A. Fagundes of El Nido, CA; Two Sons – Frank Mendes Fagundes of Turlock, CA and Joe Mendes Fagundes of Salinas, CA; Daughter – Virginia Fatima Fagundes Silva and her Husband Abel Silva of San Jose, CA; Two Brothers - Jose Mendes and his Wife Belmira Mendes of Hilmar, CA and Jorge Mendes and his Wife Mercedes of Turlock, CA; Two Sisters – Liberlinda Enes of Tulare, CA and Maria Lourdes Coelho and her Husband Juvenal Fagundes of Tulare, CA; Five Grandchildren and One Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her Parents – Jaime and Virginia Mendes and Brother – Marino Mendes.

Services: Visitation – Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock. Rosary - Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons Ave., Turlock. Funeral Mass – Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Turlock. Interment – following the Funeral Mass at Calvary Cemetery, 260 W. Childs Ave., Merced, CA.
