JIM ALWAYS HAD A GREAT WORK ETHIC AND SENSE OF HUMOR, WHICH WILL BE MISSED,BUT NOT FORGOTTEN.

Jim's kindness to my Dad over the past years of afternoon coffees was so appreciated.  Rain or shine, with not a thought for his time and effort, Jim would sit with Dad until the Dial-A-Lift bus arrived to take him home.   Dad loved that Jim was a good cook and that he often shared his bounty with Dad who never turned down Jim's good home cooking.  We remember Jim for his selflessness; his kindness; and his quiet and simple way of just being a dear friend to all.  We are lucky to be among those who knew him and called him friend.  He will be missed.

Unfortunately I don't think we have ever met however thanks to Franny Young I have seen your beautiful arrangements.  Your arrangements have been at all our family functions good or sad.  Your Dad always sent Franny those beautiful seasonal arrangements for different holidays.  I also very much enjoyed taking Franny to coffee and sitting with her and all the guy's.  I think Jim has probably been one of Franny's best friends for almost 20 years now.  They say men and woman can't be just friends but I can assure people they were the best of friends and that was clear to me when I would go to coffee and see how he talked to her and how he treated her. I loved it when they got to joking which was usually a daily thing at coffee.  Your Dad would be so quiet and then all of the sudden he would perk up and loudly say something jokingly and we would all just be in tears!!   One day about two months ago I went to kohl's and purchased a night gown.  When I got home I realized it was extra small!  Which of course was too small for me.  The next day when I drove Franny to her coffee session I went in and told her I was going to kohl's to exchange the night gown as it was only an extra small.  Jim spoke up in his joking loud voice and said Extra Small!!!  How the heck did that happen!!!  They all started laughing including me!  I put up my dukes and said watch it buddy.  I really enjoyed your Dad and looked forward to seeing him at the coffee sessions I was so lucky to attend.  Every day before Franny got up to go your dad would remind her to stop at the ladies room before she left as he knew that she wouldn't make it home if she didn't.  That is something your best friend does for you!!  Franny has said several times since your Dad's passing, who's going to remind me to go to the ladies room?  She recently got her utility bill and your Dad wanted to compare bills like they usually did at the turn of the seasons and she said she will miss all the little things that they often shared between them.  She now sits next to an empty chair at the coffee session with Leonard, the only other one left in the coffee group healthy enough to come every day. Jim always sat in that chair as they knew his eye sight wasn't as good and part of their coffee sessions were spent watching other customers come in and out!  Leonard will most likely eventually end up in Jim's chair but for now it sits empty........We are so very sorry about the lose of your Dad Randi and we hope that these few little memories will help ease the pain of your loss.  We have you and your family and friends and of course your wonderful Dad in our thoughts and our prayers.
