Charlie was born to Quinton and Ruby Parsons in Milfay, Oklahoma on February 26, 1941. Charlie and his family moved to Olympia when he was a young boy. He attended Lincoln Grade School and Olympia High School graduating class of 1960.
Charlie had many jobs growing up, including selling corsages at the door of the Evergreen Ballroom as a young boy, working in the kitchen at China Clipper and working at the local bowling alley. Charlie attended an apprenticeship program to become a painter and started out working for Cotey in Olympia. Charlie went on to become the co-owner of Olympic Painting. Their company painted heavy equipment for Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers. Charlie traveled throughout the United States with partner Jim and son Mark until Ritchie Bros. settled at a permanent job site in Olympia then finally in Chehalis where he remained working until he retired.
Charlie is survived by his children, Chrystal Boyd Parsons, Laurie (Larry) Wilson, Mark (Brenda) Hetland, Melinda (Kain) Kirkendoll, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Charlie was predeceased by his parents, brother Glen, step-brother Gordon and former wife Joyce.
Charlie enjoyed spending time woodworking in his shop, and loved building clocks and toy boxes and many other items for his family. Charlie enjoyed travelling with Judy for months in their motorhome and managed to drive through or visit most of all the states. Charlie also enjoyed fishing on the lake and happy hour on the deck. Charlie loved to watch the eagles, ducks and various birds throughout the years. Charlie is lovingly remembered by his family and wonderful friends and neighbors.
A Graveside Service will take place Monday, December18, 2023 at Mills & Mills Memorial Park at 12:00PM.

A Memorial Luncheon following the service will be held at the Black Lake Grange on December 18, 2023 from 1-4 PM. All family, friends, and neighbors are welcome.
