(William Joseph Horan Jr.) Bill Horan was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on September 6, 1930 to parents William Horan and Anne (May) Horan. Bill passed away at home peacefully in his sleep on May 13th 2020. He was a beloved husband to Jayne (Miller) Horan to whom he was married for sixty six wonderful years. He was a devoted father to Linda Kranz (Klaus) Flagstaff, AZ, Kathy Furman (Ken Calloway who preceded Bill in death in 2002) (Randy) Kingman, AZ, Bill Horan III, Sierra Vista, AZ, Rory Horan (Laura) Yorktown, VA and Brian Horan, Tucson, AZ. At the time of his death he was a proud grandfather of ten grandchildren- Jessica, Nik, David, Jennifer, Michelle, Jonathan, Kandice, Courtney, Will, and Brendan and he was a great-grandfather to eight- Kenny, Connor, Olivia, Emily, Haylee, Korey, Jacob and Jaime.
He was a longtime resident of Tucson arriving early in the summer of 1973 with his family to Davis-Monthan AFB - where he spent the remainder of his twenty four year service with the United States Air Force. After retirement he worked in the field of publishing and later went on to opening his own business helping those in need of medical equipment.
He showed a deep love for his family and friends. He always enjoyed catching up with his children and grandchildren. He was a great listener. He would stop whatever he was doing to chat. Which would often give him a chance to take a break from yard work, another passion of his and have a cool drink in the shade. He had an amazing sense of humor – and he would evoke laughter with ease. He was proud of his Irish heritage and realized his dream to visit Ireland with his wife Jayne in the fall of 2016. He loved reading and he had quite an extensive library. He regularly made time to stay informed on current events. How lucky we were to have you in our lives, you’re in our hearts, forever.
