Walter B Horton Jr Jr.

A native Tucsonan and THS Graduate (1940), Walter B. Horton Jr. died peacefully on Monday August 13, 2012. Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Walter B Horton, Sr. and Myrtle Fuller Horton, wives Winnie Mae D’Angelo and Bette Horton, and sons Walter Bryan Horton III and Steven Wayne Horton.

Walter is survived by son Jerry Horton (Amy), grandchildren Joan Machamer (Jason), Elizabeth Horton, James Horton (Kristen), Nathan Horton, and Steven Horton ( Jessica), great grandchildren Jackson Machamer , Kevin Horton and Corinna Horton. He is also survived by 3 great-great grandchildren.

Walter worked many years for Mountain Bell Telephone Company. After retiring he spent his summers in Payson, Arizona and winters in Cholla Bay, Mexico. He was an avid outdoorsman with a special talent for deep sea fishing in Mexico, where he was a member of the Cholla Bay Sportsman Club.

The family would like to express gratitude to the caring staff of Casa de Luz Hospice and to his caregiver, Sandy Thompson, who was with Walter until the end.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday August 24, 2012 at Heather Mortuary 1040 N Columbus Blvd. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Casa De Luz Hospice.
