Thelma Runner Reinhard died at home on October 22, 2022, surrounded by close family. She was born in 1930 in Spokane, WA, to Bert and Eunice Runner, the 10th of 12 children. The family moved away from Washington when Thelma was a small child, crossing the entire country to arrive in Virginia, but eventually the Runners acquired a house and ranch in Delhi, California, where Thelma spent her childhood and graduated from Livingston High School.
During her first marriage to the late Perry Riley, Thelma had three children: Bonnie, Mike, and Scott. The family moved to Tucson in 1961, and Thelma was to reside there for the rest of her life. In 1982 Thelma married long-time Tucson resident Bill Reinhard. Together the couple spent years enjoying travel to many parts of the world, and Thelma was able to use her skill and talent in photography and drawing to capture some of her memorable experiences in the USA and abroad. She also enjoyed entertaining friends and family, including many of her extended family. Thelma and Bill played host to many of her siblings’ children as they grew up and started families of their own.
Thelma is survived by her husband, Bill Reinhard, her children Bonnie Riley and Scott Riley, Scott’s wife Judy, and her grandson Justin Riley and his wife Renia as well as great-granddaughter Aurelia. She is also survived by her stepdaughters and their husbands, Pam & Bob Gylling, and Rebecca & Ron Foreman, and their sons, Roger and Brian. She is preceded in death by her son Mike.
Thelma will be much missed by everyone whose life she touched.
