Stitt, Robert M. Sr. (92) MAJ USAF Ret. Born in Newchester, PA on 22 Jan 1922 to John and Susanna Stitt. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Teter Stitt; his parents; his son Robert II, his brothers Merle and Paul and his sister Mary Waddell. Survived by Brother Charles and wife Pat of Grand Prairie, TX; Sister Jean Clapper of Gettysburg, Pa; Grandson Robert III of Tucson; granddaughter Jennifer of St. Kitts, W. Indies; great granddaughter Brittany of Tucson; and many nieces and nephews. He served in the Army Air Corp and USAF from 1940 to 1961. Mr. Stitt served in WWII at many locations in the U.S.; as a B-17 pilot in the 8th Air Corp in Europe during WWII, and in Alaska & Korea. After retirement from the USAF he moved to Tucson and attended the UofA obtaining a BSME degree. He then worked for Hughes Aircraft Co. in Tucson until retirement in 1985.
