I met Rachel  in the summer of 2003,  when I moved to Arizona.  I was an outsider at Costco 407,  but Rachel welcomed me with her kind smile and generous heart.  We became fast friends.  
When our lives got busy and time got away from us Rachel's friendship was always there.  I am so thankful for her love and sisterhood.  I miss you and my heart aches for your family.  I know God has a plan for all of us and we will see each other again.  Heaven is now BEDAZZLED because of you.

I don’t know where to begin really. Rachel was an Angel on earth. There wasn’t one day working with her that she didn’t ask me about me. Are you ok,? How’s the hubby? I kind of took for granted what wonderful human being she was. I left Costco over a year ago, but I never forgot how she cared about everyone. I still remember her talking to about her physical pains and there were times you could see it. But she would always take the time to make me feel better. She would massage your head to take away the stress without hesitation. She was very intuitive about people beyond her own pain. I will never understand why God takes people when they do, but I know she finally has no pain. I’m heartbroken for her family because she was their anchor, their strength. I miss my sweet Rachel and I know I will see you again.  And God will be there for your family to make them strong. 

I’m going to miss you walking in any room seeing  me, singing No Doubt’s song “Hey Baby” but changing it to “Hey Ray-Ray, hey Ray-Ray, Hey!” Lol. Or correcting the way we stand always making me stand to your left saying, Rachel- Ray. It’s the little things that you did that made my day more fun then it begin. I will mostly miss your Smile & BIG hugs when they came out of the blue following Love you Baby! GOD bless you Rachel. Until we meet again my friend. 

Rachel always have something positive to say about everybody. I remember fondly of her showing up at a party with whatever special drink Costco had going on and bringing her Clover cigarettes. I always love talking to her and looking forward to seeing her when I came back into Costco. She lit up everyone's life with love and joy.



When we lose someone as precious to us as Rachel,  faith, friends and family are the things that help to get us by. They are the cores of any comforts we might find in such an unexplainable loss. Rachel was loved  and will be missed by many.

She had a way of making people feel special. She would say, “Love Ya” with sincerity. Her hugs were tight, long and true. And, her smile lit up her face and the room.  

When you hear a song she loved, remember her adorable face. When you see a rainbow, reminisce about all of the colors she loved. While walking through a garden, reflect on the pleasures she got from the flowers. I pray that as time goes on , your sadness might be replaced by the joy of remembering that she is looking down smiling; and happy that you are thinking about her with love.  

For now, I pray that you find some comfort in knowing how much Rachel was loved by anyone who every had the joy and privledge of knowing her.


Although I didn’t get to work with you long, only the year I was at Costco but I do remember you were always kind to me. I remember your eyes danced & had a sparkle. I loved the cleft/dimple you had in your chin.

RACHEL or RACHABUG as our family lovingly called her was my niece . I loved her dearly. She was 6 weeks younger than my son TODD. We laughingly called them twins as they were both bald and loved food fights.
 I will love her and miss her forever.

You were that sparkle every time I saw you.  I would wait in the Membership line, just to get a hug and a quick chat. Or the text I would send you while I was shopping, asking when you get your lunch break, so I could sit with you; as my cold groceries got warm.   

To think, our friendship started when I cared for your grandfather-in-law, here at the mortuary and now I am taking care of you.  My heart is so broken.  It wasn't supposed to be this way.  

You were my giggle via text message, with our funny memes.  Our Friday lunches, the Costco paint night you invited me to, the red bead strand I have hanging in my bedroom. Most importantly, the wonderful, gentle, caring smile that I will miss so very much.  The "Hi Baby, I love you".  Your voice.  That sparkle in your eye.  

In life, we can compare our friends as pennies and quarters.  The pennies, we have many of and they hold some value.  The quarters are those few friends that add the most value to our lives.  Worth more.  Cherished. Hand selected. 

I will always now walk around with one less quarter.  You will be so forever missed my dear, sweet friend.
