Marlene Kenneth McCreath was born April 10, 1940 to the late Anna Wynn in Cleveland Ohio. She was the seventh of eleven children. She received her education through the Cleveland Public School System.
Marlene was employed as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Services until her disability resulted in early retirement. She enjoyed entertaining family, always asking them to come over or visit and stay awhile. As technology evolved, and frightened the older population, but not Marlene, it afforded her constant communication with family through Facebook. She also enjoyed copying old photos and sharing them with family members.
In 1990, Marlene married Ephraim McCreath. Together they enjoyed tearing down old things and creating something new and modern. Family knew she was quite the BOSS lady. After uniting in Cleveland, Ohio, they relocated to the island of Jamaica, Florida and finally settled down in Tucson, Arizona.
Marlene departed from this world early Saturday morning, June 13, 2020 after an extended hospital stay. Often, she would say “Well, I know where I am going to spend eternity, in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”
Marlene was preceded in death by her mother, son, Kenneth Smith and six siblings; Edwardo Byarse, Shirley Wagner, Tommy Byarse, Rudolph Byarse, Anthony Byarse, and Arthur Walker.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted husband, Ephraim McCreath; daughters, Stevie Woods of Tucson, Arizona, Deborah (Islam) Akbar, Sharon McCreath, and Delisa (Tatianna) Medlea of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Brandy (Terrance, Sr.) Washington, Jazzmyn Woods of Tucson, Arizona, Edward McCreath, Malik Akbar, Elijah Medlea; great-grandchildren, Terrance Jr. and Brielle Washington; one brother, Abbduhl Quadir of Cleveland, Ohio; three sisters, Marva Odister, Gwendolyn Smith, Jackie Walker of Detroit, Michigan; sisters-in-law, Ilene, Zalreta, Naomi, and Ann McCreath; brother-in-law, Clive McCreath and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and special friend, Oreo.
