Joseph Frederick Prager

Joe heard Jesus’ voice calling him to enter His rest Sunday 7-9, 6:47 AM. He gladly ran into the open loving waiting arms of his Saviour, Jesus. He left Earth due to two heart attacks one week apart.

Joe is survived by his wife, Nancie, whom he met Jan 1963. They lived across the street from each other, as their families were friends. She was 16, he was 20. They eloped to Las Vegas 7/3/65. They celebrated 52 years last week.

They found Jesus as their Saviour in 1971, after Nancie was found with a fist-sized cancerous tumor between her sternum bone and lungs at the age of 24. Given one month to live, she received chemo at M.D Anderson Hosp-Houston, TX. With the Lord’s Grace, it had shrunk down to scar tissue—God is Good! Their precious daughter Lisa was only 4 during this trying time, and their second precious daughter Kimberlee was born in 1975.

Joe was born in Lackawanna, NY, 7/22/42. After the death of his dad, Reed Bigelow Prager, in 1962, he moved to Tucson with his mom Helen Hoffman Prager and his two younger brothers Tim and Dan.

Joe had many occupations in Tucson. A barber, sanitation worker, Life Insurance salesman, and a realtor—but he didn’t like the paperwork! He retired as a TUSD bus driver in 2004.

He also played the crucified Jesus one year at church.

Joe was a kind, loving devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle & friend. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers, and Matthew and Mariah Wall’s father, Alan Wall.

He leaves behind his wife, Nancie, their daughters Lisa (Steve) Phillips and Kymn (Mark) Lehman, and six precious grandchildren, Matthew and Mariah Wall, Baylee, Elsie, Lyla and Dawson Lehman. Two sisters-in-law Patti “Kate” Ciasca and Barbara Romero, and many nephews and nieces. John 3:16, John 14:1-3
