Jack was born on August 1, 1938 in Oswego, NY. to Sylvia B. Pryor (Townsley) of Fulton, NY. and Charles E. Farley of Oswego, NY.
Jack has ascended into heaven to dwell in the house of our Savior Jesus Christ and to rejoin his soul mate, Kathryn M. Farley (Woods) where they will rest in peace forever.
Jack is survived by his two sons John T. Farley and Joseph D. Farley, three daughters, Terri L. Dubbe, Vickie L. Purcell and Valerie L. Annibal, his sisters, Charolette Bracy, Jan White and Christine Montgomery, his brothers, David Farley and Stuart Farley and many beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents his sister Joan Miller predeceased him.
Jack was a military veteran and served his country in the United States Air Force for 23 years. He reached the rank of Master Sergeant and served during the Vietnam War uploading weapons on B-52 aircraft. He retired from the Air Force in 1980 and continued his passion for aviation at Gates Learjet and Bombardier until his retirement.
In his spare time Jack loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. It is hard to find a picture of him without one of the children in it. He loved the outdoors and would spend every free moment camping, metal detecting, searching for rocks and geodes, and just enjoying the beautiful mountains. He enjoyed years of traveling with his wife in their RV and traveled across the country several times.
Jack was a huge John Wayne fan and collected all of his movies and memorabilia. He always said he was born in the wrong time period. He was a cowboy at heart. He also had a passion for astronomy. He had many telescopes and spent hours upon hours reading and learning everything he could about our galaxy. He always said, “When I am gone and you want to talk to me, I will be hanging out on Orion's Belt".
He is known mostly for his never-ending humor and appreciation of life. There are people you meet in life that can’t be compared to anyone. Jack was one of those people. He was so special and precious and there will never be anyone quite like him. He would say almost daily, “It's a great day to be alive” and that is the way he lived his life. He enjoyed everything and everyone and appreciated every moment he was given.
John F. Farley will be missed terribly but those of us that have had the pleasure of knowing him will forever carry the love and humor he shared with us.
