Harold Reagan Garland Jr.

Our beloved, Harold Reagan Garland has gone to a better place. His soul is free from suffering, free from pain. As a young boy Harold was happy and precocious. He filled our hearts with joy.

Tested as gifted in the third grade. We knew when he could read Richard Scarry's, Busy, Busy World, at age one. Also at a very young age, when leaving a doctor's appointment, Harold holding my hand, looked up and said, " that's what I want to be." He also said he wanted to fly without a plane or wings.

Harold loved his brothers, Johnny and Richard, cousin Maurice, who he was very close to.

One afternoon the boys decided to commandeer a Market Basket. Which they took turns pushing each other in. A Yuma newspaper photographer happened upon them. Took their photo and placed it in the newspaper. We laughed and smiled seeing their picture in the paper. That would not be the last time he would have his picture in a newspaper. The next time would be with Yuma's Kofa High School Academic Decathlon team. When Harold merited thirteen medals at the state Academic Decathlon competition.

Choosing the University of Arizona at Tucson to further his studies. Harold received degrees in Material Science and chemical engineering as well as a degree in genetics. By this time he had decided on a career in research science. As well as being invited to work at Los Alamos, Harold was offered a scholarship at the Air Force Academy in Colorado. His life took a different turn when Harold became interested in the hotel, restaurant business in Tucson Arizona. Becoming a manager at the Hotel Congress. Harold had looked forward to one day opening his own restaurant.

After becoming ill and while visiting my son in the hospital, he asked if he and beloved dog Mingus could live with me in California, If only that could've been.

Harold left behind a mother Susan Barry. Both predeceased, father Harold Garland senior and stepfather Richard Barry who he considered a father. Brother's John Feller, Richard Barry and an older brother Michael garland from a previous marriage. His cousin Maurice Bressack, who he loved as a brother. Uncle's Mark Terrell, Michael Terrell, Rodney Terrell. Aunt Frances Terrell, Katherine Terrell. Cousins Alice, Joseph, Linda & Joey Garcia. Stephen and Allison Barry. Many cousins nieces and nephews. We love you so much!
