My friend and I were in Chicago taking a bus to the mall in the middle of a blizzard. I noticed this cute guy standing by himself, also waiting for a bus. So I threw a snowball at him to get his attention. He threw one back and we dated for 6 months before moving to Tucson. We lived together for 5 years before getting married in ‘88. I loved Ed with all my heart, but by ‘90 I had moved back to Chicago. I’ve missed him terribly and the news of his passing hit me hard. RIP Ed. You are missed. 💕

I wrote a reply long ago but I want to be able to contact with the living; his friends and mine.  Everyone from Salpointe please contact me AND Patty Traub-Lenckus.  Send me your emails.  I live in London so the time difference is 8 hours ahead so it is not easy to contact anyone plus even if it was the same time it might be a bad time.  I don't necessarily need to call anyone but if so required better to talk in the email first when it is a good time.
Patty, I want you to contact me through the email so we can arrange this.   I'm guessing that it might be hard to reach you since you've already seen this and aren't looking at it after; but here's hoping.

I was Ed’s first wife. He was a good man and I’m so happy he remarried. I too, had been looking for Ed for a very long time. We parted on good terms and I can honestly say, he was a good man. Thank you for the memories Ed.
Mrs Traub, I’m so sorry for your loss. Losing a husband is the worst thing a wife goes through. I’ve recently lost mine as well. May God bless you always.

Dearest family of Ed, Ed lived with my husband and I in the 80s. We loved him so much. I have been searching for years since I moved from Tucson. Found this today after 9 years. I will remember our collecting times (VHS, DVDs and Games) and TVSW swapmeet days as good times in life. Sorry about getting you hooked on the Star Wars collectibles as I remember how you teased me about your new addiction. Goodbye for now my friend you are missed.

Ed and I were inseparable in High School. We shared so much together. We didn’t belong to any of the cliquey groups. 
You always knew where you stood with Ed. He was completely down to Earth; he had no airs about him.  We also had a similar experience with a school bully who thought he was a Rootin' Tootin' Cowboy. He always had a bunch of his friends behind him when he'd spit at us or try to push us around but Ed stood up to him first and Kawbouy backed down. A few days later I did the same when I had had enough of his aggro and I exploded in anger hitting him but to be frank if it hadn't been for Ed I may not have had the courage. I was a coward until that day but never again, thanks to Ed.  He was his own man, he was not a follower. If he didn't like something or someone he didn't pretend just to gain favour. In High School that's not necessarily the attitude to adopt if you want to be 'POPULAR' but we didn't care or were oblivious to such Bull.
Otherwise we were almost opposites. He liked conventional choices, of music and films and was subtle and quiet whereas I liked the unusual and was loud and talkative. We filled in each other’s gaps. I was just visiting Tucson for a short time when I found out; however I and a few others are still in the dark as to what and how he died. I lost touch with him the last decade since I live abroad and just missed seeing him on my last visit which I deeply regret. I really miss him and his clear headed judgement. He was never a phony. He was serene where others were aggressive. As a friend he was my anchor. I’d visit him and tell him about all my crazy travels and in a few short words he would summarize what I was trying to convey but in a more balanced view. I would feel more centered after seeing him. He was a special guy.
I wish peace and Love to all his surviving family.

Ed was a friend in high school. We enjoyed many good laughs together all those years ago. Although we lost touch after high school, I often thought of him. I am saddened to learn of his passing. From this sad event, I'll remember to take the time to keep in touch with my friends. God bless, Ed.

I was caught completely by surprise, and shocked to hear of Ed's passing.  My sincerest condolences to his family.  Upon reading the news today, I instantly recalled many fond memories of Ed coming into Fantasy Comics where I managed the 22nd St. location back in 1985 & 86.  Ed came into the store at least once every week (on new shipment day), and sometimes even two or three times during the same week, and spent many hours talking about comic books, and simply sharing a camaraderie based on several things we had in common.  Ed, along with other great gentlemen, such as Mike Dessy, Eddy Cheng, and Alan Lim, all made my days with Fantasy Comics so much fun, and fly by so quickly.  I truly miss those days.  I lost touch with Ed after leaving Fantasy Comics in Sept. 1986 for a little over 20 years, until he suddenly appeared in my office at Desert Diamond Casino as a new hire.  Yes, it IS "a small world".  To recall that precious moment of re-acquaintance, I looked up from my computer for a moment to greet the new hires and then went back to work on my computer.  I suddenly thought to myself, "I think I know that guy", only to look back at Ed and see the same look on his face that I had on mine.  I said "Ed?", and he said, "Jim?  I thought you looked familiar..."  Well, unfortunately, I didn't get to see Ed much since he began working at the casino, other than an occasional "in passing" "how's it going?", but it was great to see him again, nonetheless.  I will miss him, and I know he will be missed greatly by many.  Take care...  Thank you for all the fun times, and thank you for allowing me to borrow this moment.

Ed..just heard...I prayed for your soul today that you may be in God's kingdom now...I remember going to the discos in the day, drinking, talking about girls, listening to music...when it looked as we would live forever..I pray you are now in eternal rest with God...

I am saddened to hear of Ed's passing. He was such a nice person and he still is the same nice person except now he is in his new home. My prayers to his family.
