Edmundo V. Campillo, a beloved father, grandfather, and retired Tucson Fire Department captain, passed away on January 10th, 2024 in his hometown of Tucson, Arizona at the age of 98. Born on December 29th, 1925 in Tucson to loving parents who instilled in him a strong sense of duty and honor.
Edmundo was a man of great integrity and courage. He served his country with pride as a member of the United States Navy during World War II. His dedication to serving others continued after the war when he joined the Tucson Fire Department where he rose through the ranks to become a respected captain before retiring after many years of dedicated service.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Edmundo was known for his love of golf and spent countless hours perfecting his swing on local courses. His passion for the game brought joy to those around him and created lasting memories with friends and family.
He is survived by his children Terry Campillo, Michael Campillo, Ron Campillo; daughter Connie Campillo; grandchildren Scott Campillo, Cassie Popeski, Cara Popeski; son-in-law Richard Popeski; daughter-in-law Cecilia Campillo; along with numerous other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at VA Hospital for their compassionate care during Edmundo's final days.
