Daniel (Danny) Santos Duran was born March 23, 1951, in Tucson, AZ, and was welcomed into heaven’s gates on December 9, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Helen Duran, and his son Daniel M. Duran.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Irma; children, Daniel (Rebecca), Judy, Robert, Steven, Phillip (April), Tina and Jennifer (David); 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Siblings: Francisco, Yvonne (Richard), Gregory (Vivian), Jon (Lori), and Yvette.
Danny proudly served for his country in the US Army-Infantry during the Vietnam era as a Sergeant of his platoon. Danny was an avid San Francisco Giants and San Francisco 49ers fan. He loved to bowl and served as a director for the USBC bowling tournaments. He enjoyed gatherings with family and friends to “burn some meat,” as he would say, play a game of Spades or dominos while listening to his oldies, Mexican music, and rhythm and blues all while arguing who was the best baseball team, San Francisco Giants or the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He was truly one of life's treasures whose impact on this earth was felt by anyone who had the pleasure of crossing his path. His family was honored and blessed to have him for the 71 years of his life.
A visitation for Daniel will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at south lawn cemetery, 5401 S Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706.
