It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother, Claire Bayze. She celebrated her 90th birthday in early September and passed away on September 30, after a long battle with dementia and related illnesses. Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Claire moved to Nogales, Arizona in 1955, where she met and married the love of her life, Robert Henry Bayze.
She was an active member of St. Cyrils Catholic Church for many years and also worked as a nurse in Boston and Nogales before moving to Tucson in 1964. Her passions included raising her six children, traveling, reading and dining out.
Survivors include her three sons, Robert (Teresa), David and Jeff, and her three daughters, Michele (Mark), Janet and Theresa. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren and her 17 great-grandchildren.
Claire was a stranger to no one. She had deep friendships with many of her neighbors and continued to support her family through weekly phone calls and shared meals with her children who lived in Tucson. Her deepest wish was to spend time together as long as possible.
Claire joins her heavenly father, her husband Robert and her grandson, Christopher Brian Bayze in the kingdom of heaven. We take great joy and find solace in knowing that we will be with her again when called.
The family also asks that you join them afterward for a gathering and celebration of her life. (Details forthcoming)
