Belinda graduated in 1991 from Charles M Russell High School in Great Falls, Montana.
Belinda moved to Arizona in 1991 with her family, where she met and married David Williams. To that union, her only daughter, Shaylen Williams was born.
Belinda was led to the Lord by her dad Pastor Willie A Handy while attending Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Doctor Willie Coleman then took her under his wing and taught and tutored her. Once she started working for the Lord, she never stopped. She was in the adult choir and the director of the youth choir. She then joined Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church where she became an ordained Evangelist under the leadership of Pastor Edgar Stanley. She was a member of the adult choir, led the praise team, taught Sunday school, directed the youth choir and led the drama and dance ministry. Belinda also started preaching and teaching at the Women’s Gospel Rescue Mission as well being the director of the Southern District Association young adult ministry. Belinda joined Living Faith Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Randy Winkles. There she was on the praise team, the president of the women’s ministry group, Pastor Randy & Lori’s personal assistant as well as preacher and teacher. Belinda’s last assignment here on earth was with Tucson Church International under the leadership of Pastor Demetrius Miles, where she also taught and sang on the praise team.
Belinda worked in the behavioral health industry for many years, working for companies such as Compass Healthcare, the Community Partnership of Southern Arizona, the Sothern Arizona Mental Health Corporation, Easter Seals Blake Foundation and LaFrontera.
Belinda loved to sing. She was in many choirs including the Gospel Music Workshop of America and the Tucson Mass Choir. Belinda also released her own album “The Process” which was produced by one of her best friends Alexander Jones. She later began singing with Nick Trainor in a group affectionately known as The Diva and the Gents.
Belinda leaves behind to cherish her memories one daughter Shaylen Williams, her parents Willie and Betty Handy, her two sisters Sandra Handy Ross and Christina Handy, two nieces Tyiera and Brittany Handy and one nephew Anthony Handy, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, gym and church family.
You will remember her smile. You will remember her laugh. You will remember her songs. You will remember her singing and dancing. You will remember her friendship. You will remember her kindness and giving spirit. You will remember her as a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. You will remember how greatly she loved the Lord and you will remember that all of this can be proven by remembering the life that she lived.
