Antonio Jimenez Perez was born on May 18, 1942, to Higinia and Filiberto Perez, in Encarnacion De Diaz, Jalisco Mexico. Antonio was a hard working man his entire life. He came to the US at the young age of 16, spending nine months earning a living before returning to his birthplace for a time. He returned to the US again in 1967, at 25 years of age, living in Westley, CA, working out in the fields irrigating.
In 1968, he married his beautiful wife Paula Hernandez, and they made their home in AZ, some years later, in 1974. Antonio worked for Magma Copper Company, an underground mine in San Manuel, AZ, for 25 years until its closure in 1999, where he was a High Packer (setting charges for blasting mine tunnels). A short time later, Antonio and Paula moved to Tucson, where he worked in landscaping for an additional 13 years before finally fully retiring. He was well known for his green thumb and ability to create masterpiece landscapes with plants and flowers. He died peacefully in his sleep at home with family, on February 16, 2022. Antonio was preceded in death by Paula, his loving wife of fifty years. Antonio is survived by daughters and sons Christine (Frank) Miranda, Anthony Hernandez, Martin (Julie) Perez, Jennifer (Dean) Kuhlman, 9 grandchildren Ginger, Mariah, David, Liliana, Olivia, Selina, Roland, Leia and Brooklyn, 5 great grandchildren, and his brother Jesus Perez, his sister Consuelo Olivares and many nieces & nephews.
