William McClain Hollingsworth Jr.

William (Billy) McClain Hollingsworth, Jr., age 84, passed away on November 23, 2024 at Manor Lake Memory Care in Dawsonville, GA, where he had been a resident since 2022.

Born in Atlanta, Ga on December 19, 1939 to William McClain Hollingsworth, and Nell Gillespie Hollingsworth, Billy grew up in Decatur, Ga and graduated from Avondale High School in 1957. He attended Southern Tech. Billy spent most of his career as a self-employed manufacturer’s representative.

Billy was an avid gardener and grew the most beautiful flowers and always made sure his yard was pristine. He enjoyed sailing, saltwater fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Billy was proceeded in death by his parents and sister, Shirley Van Clake. He is survived by his wife, Carol Hollingsworth of Cumming, GA and sons Mickey Hollingsworth (Teresa) of Clermont, GA and Tim Hollingsworth (Beth) of Cumming, GA; his grandchildren Bailey Marsh (Preston), Hannah Hollingsworth (Nathan Shadburn-fiancé), Justin Hollingsworth and his great grandchildren Jace Marsh, Raelynn Marsh and Kade Marsh.

A visitation will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home – 3150 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA 30084 on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a graveside service beginning at 1:00 PM at the Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you consider sending a plant for a growing memorial garden in Billy’s memory.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Manor Lake for their dedication and loving care to Billy during his residency at their beautiful memory care facility.
