John. M. "Jack" Holley, 79, went home to be with the Lord on December 1, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Veleta Barrett Holley, his three loving children, John Holley, Jr. (wife, Suzanne) of Lawrenceville, GA, Philip Holley (wife, Tracey) of Norcross, GA, and Veleta Ann Floren (husband, Donnie) of Lawrenceville, GA. He also is survived by seven grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. Jack proudly served his country in both the U.S. Army and Coast Guard. After graduating from Murphy High School ('50) and Atlanta Law School ('55), he went on to be a founding partner of Insurance, Investigating, and Adjusting, Inc. for 42 years, as well as an owner and partner in various other successful businesses over the years. Jack enjoyed dividing his time between his homes at Panama City Beach, Sky Lake, and in Atlanta where he could usually be found in one of his workshops. Always the inventor and gardener, he loved life and time with his family. He was a long time active member and usher at Embry Hills United Methodist Church and a member of the Tucker Masonic Lodge No. 42. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 4, 2011, at Embry Hills United Methodist Church.
