Janet Doreen McGilligan Smith

Janet Doreen McGilligan-Smith, 75, passed away January 18, 2014. Janet was born July 23, 1938 in Tillsonburg, Ontario Canada. Janet was married to her loving husband Joseph H. Smith and lived in Clarkston, Georgia until his passing in 1991. A few years after her husband's passing, Janet moved to Floral City, FL where she lived until January 11, 2014 when she moved back to Georgia to live with and be near her children. Janet is survived by her son, Bruce Edward Smith, Sr., daughters, Cherie S. Shaffer and Tammie L. Walraven, her brothers Jim, Fred and Allan McGilligan. Janet also has 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren, along with a loving host of family and friends. Janet loved her family and friends with a trusting and unconditional love. Janet had a great passion for Roses and when you see one from now on, think of her. She will be greatly missed...

All services will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 3150 Lawrenceville Hwy., Tucker, GA 30084. With a viewing on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 3:00 pm- 5:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Floral Hills Funeral Home followed by a graveside service where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
