Barbara was born to Arthur and Trudie Burgess in 1946 and was the oldest of seven children. Barbara spent her career as a Hairdresser of thirty-six years and a Special Needs Bus Driver for twenty-five years for Gwinnett County.
Barbara was a loving and dedicated mother of two. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren on Sundays. The two most favorite things she enjoyed with the grandchildren were simple, to the mall shopping and then off to McDonald’s to watch them on the playground.
She is survived by her four brothers and one sister, Jim Burgess, Dacula, Georgia, Richard Burgess, Coweta, Georgia, Bill Burgess, Lilburn, Georgia, Simmie Burgess, Winder, Georgia, Betty (Burgess) Howell, Peachtree City, Georgia; children, Scott (Lisa) Mansfield, Monroe, Georgia, Towina (Kirk) Ivey, Loganville, Georgia; grandchildren, Kolton Ivey, Social Circle, Georgia, Nikole (Marcus) Jordan, Statham, Georgia, Kaitlin Ivey, Marietta, Georgia, Asheley Blackford, Monroe, Georgia, Rebakah Mansfield, Monroe, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Kayden Jordan, Kylie Jordan, Logan Jordan, Makayla Crawford and Kingston Crawford; several niece and nephews and cherished friends.
She is preceded in death by her son, Curtis Mansfield; husband, Lee G. Perry; parents, Arthur and Trudie Burgess; and sister, Sandra (Burgess) Dobson.
The family will be holding a visitation for Barbara on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084. Graveside service will be Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 12:30 PM at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 3000 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084.
