Christopher Spencer Schmaltz

Chris was born in Dearborn on January 25, 1960, son of William and Rita Schmaltz.

Chris graduated from Pathfinder School in 1979. He received his Associates degree from Northwestern Michigan College. He was Vice President for Great Lakes Marine & Aviation Insurance and Risk Management. He was member, director, second Vice President of the Water Wonderland Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society and a member of the Chris Craft Antique Boat Club. He was past Captain of the Michigan Table of the Brothers of the Coast. He was on the Board of Directors of the Leelanau County Historical Society.

Chris is survived by his loving wife, Michelle; his aunt and uncle, Betty and Oliver Boss; brother-in-law, Scott (Maureen) Earl; sister-in-law, Roberta (Jim) Andrews; nieces, Grace Earl and Hannah Andrews; nephews, Harley Earl, Zachary Andrews, and Curtis Andrews; many cousins; and special friends, Jimmy Eichstadt, Steven Cobb, Todd Flees, and Peggy Suwinski. He preceded in death by his brother, Bill and his parents, William and Rita Schmaltz.
