Vasta Gibbons

It's with great sorrow we announce the passing away of Vasta Vera Irene Gibbons (nee Stuffles) formerly of Toronto.

Vasta passed away peacefully at home in Keswick with her daughter Louiesa and her grandchildren by her side. We would like to thank family and friends who came to her side the day before her passing. Mom would like to express her gratitude to the family and friends that could not be by her side, but took the time to lift her spirits with a phone call reminiscing about the past. It meant the world to her. The memories and the conversations made her extremely happy, so for this her family is also incredibly grateful to all of you. Vasta is predeceased by her parents William and Myrtle Stuffles, her husband Bruce Gibbons, daughter Dawn C. Gibbons, brothers Russel and James (Jimmy) Stuffles and her sister Loretta Poudrier. Vasta Gibbons will be sadly missed by her sister Dorthey Stuffles, her children Cliffard, Leona, Louiesa Gibbons and her husband Allen Cummings. Her grandchildren Jenniffer, Alaina, Devon, Adam, Aliecia-Marie (Fayaz Mehar), Katelynne (Ashton Marsh), Allen (A.J.), Dusten, Tiffaney, Melanie and Dawn. And great-grandchildren Angel, Audrey, Aneesa and Maleek. Friends will be received at the Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Avenue (Main Street Subway Station), on Sunday, May 8th, 2011 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, May 9th, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service will follow in the chapel on Tuesday, May 10th, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment at Toronto Necropolis Cemetery to follow.
