Uncle Roy, Cindy, Greg and families:
My thoughts are with you today as they have been throughout the past week.  I really wish I could be there today. Please know I am there in spirit.  I've been reminiscing this week. Words fall short in describing the positive impact which Aunt Sadie had on my life. I've been remembering the many weekends spent with Aunt Sadie and Uncle Roy. Aunt Sadie always celebrated life vibrantly - and made so many occasions very special for me including birthdays and graduation. I particularly remember her passion and love of the arts and her support of my university studies of them, her travel stories, her delicious cooking, the shows and music concerts we attended, practicing our french together and her loving spirit and kind generousity in taking me into her (and Uncle Roy's) home while I lived in Toronto.  She was a blessing in my life. I will miss her very much and treasure my memories of her always. My  thoughts are with you all.

Aunt Sadie was a wonderful woman to know.  She always made us feel welcome when we visited. There are many fond memories of get-togethers in Willowdale and Don Mills. Our sympathies to all.

Dear Uncle Roy, Cindy, Greg and families. I too have fond memories of many holidays with family gathered around a beautiful table at your home, brimming with treats prepared by Auntie Sadie. So many good times were shared playing Christmas charades and New Years Eve Trivial Pursuit, and arguing about the merits of mincemeat tarts with lids vs without. As a young child I spent many summer vacations in the loving care of Auntie Sadie (and Uncle Roy) who always made me feel right at home. Auntie Sadie will be forever remembered as a kind and generous soul. Our thoughts are with you all.

Farewell to Aunt Sadie

As my Godmother, Aunt Sadie holds a special place in my heart.  She was a loyal and dear lifelong friend to my mother so she was an important part of our family life.  Sadie brought to Ontario her Newfoundland traditions of generosity and having a good time with family and relatives.  David and I have very happy memories of her wonderful family get-togethers.  She could teach Martha Stewart a thing or two about the fine art of entertaining.  Her elegantly-decorated house and dining room table during the Christmas season, and her beautifully presented and delicious meals were always wrapped with her love.

We are never ready to say goodbye to someone we love.  David and I will be with you all in spirit on Saturday as you celebrate Aunt Sadie's life.  I think we are closer as a family because of her.  That was her gift to all of us.

Uncle Roy, Cindy, Greg and families, We were so saddened to hear of Aunt Sadie's passing. She was a wonderful lady and we have many fond memories of visiting with Aunt Sadie and you all when we lived in Toronto.  I remember how she opened up her home when we got married in May of 1994. I also remember visiting her while expecting our first child. Aunt Sadie asked me what names we had picked out. When I told her we had Sarah Elizabeth for a girls name she quickly responded " You can't name your child Sarah Elizabeth." That was when I found out Aunt Sadie was actually baptized Sarah Elizabeth. I would have been proud to have my child share her name. She will never be forgotten. Please know that you are all in our prayers at this time!

My children and I have many happy memories of times spent with Aunt Sadie (and of course Uncle Roy), who were both tremendously supportive of us over the years.  Family get-togethers were so much fun, and an invitation to one of Aunt Sadie's excellent dinners was always happily anticipated.  The beautiful photograph is just how I like to remember her.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Although I only knew Sadie for the past 10 years, it has been an honour to have been part of her life.
To Roy, Cindy, Greg and your families.  I would like to say your dedication to Sadie as a wife, mother and grandmother reflected just how much she was loved. 
Unaware and unable to express her feelings over the last several years has no doubt been hard on you all.  But as one of her caregivers I believe she felt your love and if able to speak would have told you all how much she loved you.
Our deepest sympathies to you all.

Aunt Sadie always made us feel so welcome whenever we visited from Newfoundland. What a warm and vibrant aunt she was! We often reminisce about the many delicious meals she served, her accounts of her many travels and  her warm and caring personality. We will be thinking of you in the days ahead.

Dear Uncle Roy, Cindy, Greg and families, we were so sorry to hear of your loss.  I also have many happy memories of visits to the house on George Henry, especially during the holidays.  I can still picture all of us around the dining table wearing paper hats and Auntie Sadie putting on the most delicious Christmas dinners.  She always made us feel so welcome in the warmth of her home. We'll miss her very much.

My thoughts echo those of Daphne, Richard, Alison and family when I must express my sorrow at your loss. My memories of Auntie Sadie are all very warm and wonderful. She always managed to bring a smile and laughter to our gatherings. I always looked forward to the times we had at George Henry. She made those times unforgettable. I've been spending the last couple of days reflecting on those times we all shared. My thoughts are with you all at this time.
