Peacefully, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband, for nearly 51 years, of Joan Ellis, and devoted brother of Judy Langdon of Vancouver, B.C. Robert is deeply missed by his loving daughters Janet and Sandra (John Sinkins) and his son, Douglas. The “King of Dinnick Crescent”, he was one of the last original residents.
Bob’s knowledge of local history coupled with his incredible memory for dates, buildings and people were much sought after by family, friends and neighbours. His years of legal practice in combination with his passion for story telling meant that he always had a good tale full of colourful characters at the ready to entertain anyone who crossed his path. Bob Langdon was an easily recognizable figure with his black raincoat, briefcase and cane. He will be sorely missed at many of the places he ran his daily errands. He was glad that in his final year, he was able to celebrate his fiftieth wedding anniversary with all of his groomsmen, his eightieth birthday party at his family home and the Lawrence Park CI 75th Anniversary.
Heartfelt thanks to the Critical Care Team at Sunnybrook Hospital for their outstanding care of Robert and his family during his final stay. Thanks as well to Dr. Matthew Cheung and the team at the Odette Cancer Centre.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
A memorial service will take place at Lawrence Park Community Church, 2180 Bayview Avenue on Saturday, November 12th at 2 PM. On line condolences may be made at www.trullfuneralsyonge.com.
