Hi Clare, I am very sorry to learn about Pat's passing.  He was a lovely man and wonderful neighbour.  I loved talking to him over our hedge about all sorts of things.  I wish you and Jerry well and hope you are doing okay.  I know how close you both were.  I will always think about Pat and remember him with great fondness.  I only found out today.  I'm sorry I wasn't able to come to the service.

Prudence:  Please accept Yolly and my condolences.  Others have commented on Patrick's contribution to Woodbine thoroughbred horse racing. I have had the pleasure of knowing Patrick as a friend and as a partner in ownership of horses.  We had a few winners, but best of all a friendship.  He will be sorely miss at the Woodbine Club.

Patrick deCaires was truly a gentleman and a person of faith.  He was a great friend and supporter of my father, the late Sam Lima.  Patrick worked tirelessly on behalf of the Toronto Thoroughbred Racing Club  and he was always there with his camera to take photographs at club events.   He will be remembered as a kind and honourable man.
