Margaret Hughes

The only daughter of Charlie and Margaret McCartney, Margie passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30th 2022.

She was the beloved wife of the late John Gwyn Hughes and a superb mother to John Gwyn Jr., Tim and Vince.

Margie adored her grandchildren, Kristine, Kevin, Shawna and Amanda. Margie was a much beloved sister-in-law to the late Mary Lou Travers and the late Trevor Hughes.

She leaves behind in-laws Wilf and Gail Hughes, Patricia Hughes, Steve and Judy Hughes, Greg and Gale Hughes and Jim Hughes and Joanne Fortier. Margie will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews and countless loved ones and friends.

Margie spent many years in Aurora raising her family and working for Canada Law Book.

Upon retirement Margie and Gwyn moved to Peterborough where Margie made new friends enjoying such activities as golf, bridge and swimming.

Although she has left this world for a better place, she will live on in our hearts forever.

A funeral mass for Margaret will be held Friday, August 5, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 520 Sherbourne Street, Toronto, ON M4X1K8.

In lieu of flowers a donation in her name to Parkinson Canada would be gratefully received.
