MALCOLM RONALD MAC EACHERN 1942 - 2013 With sadness the family announces the passing of Malcolm R Mac Eachern on May 31, 2013 in the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. Born in Broad Cove Chapel, Cape Breton he was the son of Donald and Sadie (Mac Donald). He was married for over forty years to Barbara of Gillis Mountain. He is survived by two children: Curtis his wife Ana and Charlene and her husband David. Precious grandfather to Grace Ann and Duncan Patfield and Owen Mac Eachern. He is survived by one sister Mary O'Shaughnessy and three bothers Allister (Kaye), Dougald (Marion) and Gerald (Brenda). Predeceased by sisters Catherine, Louise and Rose Marie, brothers John A. and Francis. Greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews. He attended school at the local Brook Section school. He moved to Toronto where he worked for over 40 years for the Iron Workers Union Local 721. Some of his proudest moments were working on the construction of the CN Tower and the SkyDome high above Toronto. He was a humble man who was always ready to lend a hand. His sense of humor was evident in all situations. The love of the land and people of Broad Cove were etched in the mind and soul of Malcolm. He returned yearly to "The Farm" and the house built by his grandfather. He kept the house in its traditional condition to help his children understand the history with its hardships, great joys and accomplishments.
