Harvey, Lawrence (Larry) of Toronto, died at Toronto East General Hospital early the morning of Nov. 30, 2015. Born in Corner Brook, NL, Mr. Harvey was a successful country musician and was one of the first Canadians to sign with an American music label in the 1950s. He was nominated for a Juno award, had many hits on the CHUM charts and sang in the Ryman Auditorium former home of the Grand Ole Opry in a recent documentary about his life story entitled, Paper Promises. Beloved husband of Vergena, inspirational father of Gail, Robin and Shane, grandfather to granddaughters Rejane, Katie and Kelly and to grandsons, Eric, Michael, Rylan and Brooks. He also leaves his beloved childhood playmate and aunt, Willowdene. Step-granddad to Zack. Great grand-poppie to Jesse. Uncle to Laura, Jane, Susan and Paul Jr. Predeceased by his treasured sister Mescal (Mickey.) His strong will, captivating voice, caring and love of family and music will be dearly missed.
There will be a service for Larry in Carmanville, Newfoundland at an unconfirmed time in January of 2016.
