Ju Yun Kim

Ju Yun (Jane) Kim, left us after a heroic battle with cancer on February 12, 2023. Ju Yun is survived by her beloved husband Kyong Tek, and adoring children, Isaac and Jeanie, siblings Sung Yun (Robert), Jun Whan (Lora), mother, In Ai Lee, parents-in-law Chung Nam Kim, Gem Hwa Kim, sister in law, Deidre, nieces and nephews, Samantha, Breanna and Alexander and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Ju Yun was predeceased by her father, Sang Man Lee, brother-in-law, Soong Joon and mother-in-law, Chin Hyon Kim.

Jane was born in Seoul, South Korea and immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba as an excited 11 year old in 1982. Jane and family adapted quickly to life in Canada and Jane obtained a nursing degree from the University of Manitoba in 1994. Soon after, eager to expand her horizons and see the world, Jane accepted an offer from Air Canada to be a flight attendant. The following years for Jane saw a whirlwind of activity including marrying the love of her life, Robert, relocating to Toronto and having two beautiful children, Isaac in 1998 and Jeanie in 1999. Toronto was homebase for Jane, for both her career as a flight attendant and for her to raise her family.

Jane had a joyous love of life with her family as the focal point for everything she did. A perfect day for Jane would be a summer BBQ with close family and friends in her sprawling backyard complete with a gigantic vegetable garden.

Jane was a free-spirit, always looking for her next adventure. Jane was an accomplished long-distance runner, with many organized running events to her credit. Jane's career as a flight attendant at Air Canada, perfectly suited her adventurous spirit letting her see more of the world than most of us will see in a lifetime. However, despite her love of her job and the adventures it presented to her, home and family were never far from her thoughts and she would always count the minutes until she could be reunited with family.

With Jane it was always family first.

A public visitation for Jane will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes, 6191 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON, M2M 4K4, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
