Retired Toronto Hydro. Peacefully at Scarborough General Hospital on December 28, 2013 in his 89th year.
Born and raised in Falkirk Scotland, John emigrated to Canada after serving in the British Navy during World War II. Beloved husband to Muriel, dear father to Gary (predeceased), Linda (Curt) and Craig (Jo-anne). Proud grandfather to Matthew, Stephen, Corey, Andrew and Taryn-Lee. John is survived by his siblings Cathy, Alex, Robert, Bill and George.
John’s family and friends gave him his greatest joy. In his later years, Parkinson’s robbed him of much, but his kindness, sense of humour and smile endured. His family would like to give thanks to the staff at Leisureworld Rockcliffe Nursing Home who treated him with compassion and dignity.
Family and friends will be received at Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road, Scarborough (416)266-4404 on Friday January 3, 2014 from 11 am until time of Memorial Service at 1pm in the funeral home Chapel.
