It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden, peaceful passing of John Bak at the age of 73 years on Sunday, August 26, 2012. He will be sadly missed by his wife Joan of 44 years, his sister Marianne and husband Cor Dezeeuw, The Hague, Netherlands, and his brother Keith and wife Maria of Welland, Ontario as well as many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents Adriaantje and Zanen. John had a distinguished 30 year career in the investment business as a portfolio manager with Guardian Capital Group. Upon retirement, he spent most winters in Sarasota, Florida. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Michael’s Cathedral, 200 Church Street, Toronto at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 1st with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers a donation to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation (www.ottawaheart.ca) would be appreciated by the family.
