She was born in London, Ontario to parents Charles Philip Honeyman, and Norah Kathleen Speight (deceased) and was an amazing sister to her brothers Howie Honeyman (spouse Laura Honeyman), and James Honeyman (spouse Janice Honeyman).
Jocelyn had a vast educational journey studying at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, and as an Instructor in the Technical Production for the Performing Arts Industry program at Sheridan College, before finding her passion for Architecture where she graduated in 2001 as an architect and recipient of the Jules Wegman Fellowship award for her thesis from the University of Toronto. She worked as a student and architect in Toronto, Vancouver and Singapore and was known for her determination and her design development and presentation skills as well as her passion for LEED and PassiveHouse sustainable design.
Jocelyn and Bruce Knapp were married December 20th 2015 in Vancouver BC, and had twin children born March 1st 2014: Miranda Helene Reine Knapp (deceased), and Gage Robert Alexander Knapp.
Throughout Jocelyn’s life, she was passionate for all life had to offer. A marathon runner, traveller, architect, theatre set carpenter and instructor, mother, friend, sister and wife, she took life by the horns. Jocelyn was an incredibly committed mother who worked tirelessly to seek the best for her son Gage, providing endless love and affection.
Special thanks to Dr. Penelope Bradbury, Dr. Andrea McCart, Dr Kim Tsoi and the staff at Mount Sinai Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital and Toronto General Hospital for their compassionate and committed care for Jocelyn during her battle.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 20th from 2pm-5pm at the Balmy Beach Club. Friends and family, please feel free to join us to celebrate this wonderful woman!
