Joan Orr

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, in Toronto at the age of 86.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Carol (Dave); son David (Cathy); grandchildren Sarah, Michael, Andrew (Samantha); nephew Michael; nieces Margie, Shelagh, Joanne, Denyse among other extended family and friends.

Joan was predeceased by her husband of 49 years Murray; sister Margaret; and brother Charles.

Joan was born in England and grew up in Leeds during the time of the war. She moved to Canada in the 1950s and met Murray a few years later and they were married in 1958. Joan worked for many years at Block Drug Co. and then her and Murray Retired together, enjoying many happy years of retirement. They traveled together and enjoyed their grandchildren during this time. Joan had a great sense of humor, loved playing cards and spending time with her family.

Public visitation to occur at 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday February 24 at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road in Scarborough.

A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 the following morning of February 25 in the Chapel of Jerrett Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Pine Hills Cemetery 625 Birchmount Rd. in Scarborough.
