Guy Sabourin, husband to Alice Rogers (pre-deceased), beloved brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, lived a rich and fulfilling life before passing away peacefully at 86 years old.
A thoughtful man with a heart of pure gold, Guy always saw the best in everyone and everything around him. His sweet, cheeky smile, sense of humour and genuine love for his family, friends and hockey buddies will be deeply missed, and will live on in his memory.
Guy had a passion for staying active. No matter if he was tending to his tomato garden, gearing up for a long drive, lacing up his skates, or talking up the latest Montreal Canadiens trade or victory, Guy would be there with a smile on his face and an interesting story to share. He was also a community legacy who gave many young kids hockey equipment and advice to help spark their love of the game.
Guy is survived by many who loved him, including his sister Jacqueline Bagatto and brother in law Leo; his daughter and son in law; his son Wade; grandchildren and great grandchildren; and Alice’s sons Bruce (Pattie) and Mark (Cheryl).
The family expresses heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Humber River Hospital (North York), 7th Floor East.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Humber River Hospital (North York) in Guy’s name.
