Frank George Bowles

Frank George Bowles, at the age of 95 passed peacefully on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Predeceased by his loving wife Joyce (2014), his son Dr. Lawrence Bowles (1988), brother Ernie and sisters Ella and Irene. He will be missed by his daughter Catherine (Ken) and son Bill (Cheryl). He was Papa and/or Grampa to Christopher (Samantha), Blake (Joo Ae), Danny (Janet), David (Tamara), Taylor and Adam (Breanne) and his 10 great grandchildren.

Frank was extremely proud and thankful for the 44 years he spent at the The Northern Miner/Norgraphics in Toronto and Vancouver. He started his career at The Northern Miner in the mailroom and worked his way through the different departments to eventually taking his family to Vancouver to open and run The Western Miner. He eventually headed back to Toronto to the head office to finish his career as President.

He loved all sports and learned and loved to play tennis. He enjoyed reminiscing about the “old days” on the Danforth and always had lots of stories to tell.

His family feels fortunate to have had him so healthy and active to the wonderful young age of 95.

A visitation for Frank will be held Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON M1K 2B5. A funeral service will follow in the Chapel of the funeral home at 11:00AM. Cremation will follow.
