Hi Bruce. I just wanted to pass on my condolences regarding your mom.  I have many memories of the Hilliards as I grew up in Applefield. Of course, many were of your brother and all the ridiculous things he and I did.  My gosh, I have a 10 year old and he would be lucky to do 10% of what Brian and I did.  
But as for your mom, she was always very good to me.  As a boy growing up, I could always find sanctuary at your place.  But as an adult, she always was kind to me. Sometimes I would just drop over to say hi when I was in the area.  She held a party for me and Darcie once when we were down in 1988, that was very special.
Another thing or certainly the last memory I have of your mother was after Brian passed away, I was down visiting and we were staying in Port Elgin.  It was in 2000, and she came up to visit for the day.  She and I talked about a few things, but she talked about him and his life.  I felt so privileged that she shared things with me.  
I can think of many other things, but, usually, it was when Brian and I did things that had her chasing us out of the house, but I think deep down, she was laughing at us and what we had done…
I just wanted to share that with you, that she was always very kind to me.  I thank her for that.

We were saddened to learn of the sudden passing of "Aunt" Evelyn.  The wonderful gallery of pictures brought back many great memories of the fun times we had at 38 Erindale and the family dinners prepared by Grandma Hazel with our Aunts, Uncles and cousins.  Your Mom was a wonderful lady and will always be remembered.  Our deepest sympathy for your loss.

Accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing away of your dear mom who was such a nice friend and colleague since 1990's We have been meeting ever since then and without fail at christmas going out to dinner and exchanging gifts etc.I was looking forward to meeting her last friday at the reception and was suprised to hear that she was rushed to hospital.May her soul rest in peace!

Although we have never met, I had the pleasure of working with your mother in the 80's.  What a sweetheart she was.  And fun, boy, we had a ball working together.  I will never forget her and she will forever be in my heart. God bless you all.

Condolences to the family of Evelyn from Ron and Verna Watson who were friends of Ev's during the time that her husband Don and Ron were elected to the Scarborough Board of Education in 1964 and in 1966 when both were elected to the Borough of Scarborough Council.  They served together on Council for the City of Scarborough where Don served to the mid 1970's.
Evelyn and Don served the Scarborough community in many capacities throughout the years with great enthusiasm which will always be remembered and appreciated.
We regret that we are unable to express our condolences in person as we are out of the city this week.

Please express our sympathy to both Paul and Bruce on the sudden passing of their mother.  Sad at any time, but when there is no warning, the loss hits even harder.
 
Unfortunately, Grant won't be able to attend the funeral on Wednesday, but would like to attend the visitation.  Is there one in the afternoon on Tuesday?  He will be at East York practice on Tuesday evening.
 
If so, we will come Tuesday afternoon to pay our respects.
 
Our thoughts are with the whole family at this difficult time.  Hopefully, the joy of having Evelyn in your lives for as long as you did will outweigh the loss of losing her.  That certainly helped me when my beloved parents passed away.
