The last message our beloved Reverend preached to us at St Clair Avenue Baptist Church in 2023 was “Are you Dressed for the Wedding”. It was a message that reflected his preparation for the great party in the kingdom of God.  His dress was made up of faith, love, kindness, endurance and grace. I thank God for welcoming his servant home to a place of eternal rest.

Dear Velma, 

I am extending my family’s deepest condolences on the passing of your beloved husband, Reverend Emmanuel Francis. We are honoured to have met him and to have watched the two of you blossom as a dynamic partnership in life and in love. 

I can still remember when you spoke to us all at the office of this wonderful man - "The Rev" - you’d met during a family visit to Montreal.  Some people wait a lifetime to meet their “person” or never get that chance at all but it was like God had a plan that two wonderful people so dedicated to his word, to service and good deeds would get together almost 25 years ago.  The Rev. seemed almost bigger than life with his booming voice delivering his sermons in his particular panache and style. He exuded a love of life so genuine and infectious.  

Our youngest son Noah could not stop talking about the tone (boom) of his voice after we attended a Sunday service at his church many years ago.  Our daughter Kira recently came upon a note attached to a copy of a "Résumé of Jesus Christ" you had given her after the passing of her grandmother Elva in Jamaica. She kept your note and résumé tucked away in the Bible that her grandmother had bequeathed to her upon her passing. Your note invited Kira to reach out to you and the Rev. if she had any questions or wanted to talk. Both you and the Rev. have always been very generous of your time. 

Although he was taken much too early, I’m happy that you got to spend the last 20 years married and enjoying life with your best friend.  I know that he adored you, his daughter Minevia & son-in-law Harley and his wonderful grandson Kingsley.

At our time at Ferndale Baptist church, Pastor Francis has been very welcoming and supportive to us. He has taught us many valuable lessons that we can still use in our lives. But the most important message to put God first in our lives. I pray that God be with the family and loved ones at this sad time. My condolences.🙏❤️

It was with sadness that I heard that Rev. Francis had passed. He was a fighter, to the end - but always willing to accept God's will for his life. I was privileged to have played for some of the services when he was guest pastor at St. Clair Avenue Baptist Church. He was a friend to the church - and we felt that he and his wife Velma were a part of our church family.
He was guest preacher at the 115th. Anniversary Service at St. Clair. I will not forget his powerful singing voice. Before the service, he walked over to me with the music to an old gospel song: 'When They Ring the Golden Bells' - can you play this for me - he asked? Of course! And, he began his sermon with a wonderful baritone rendition of this song!  May God give you eternal rest with Him. You have earned the spot at the Throne of Grace!

I would like to sympathize with the family and friends of Mano  , we grew up in Cockrane together as brothers , he was the  fast bowler and I was the batsman , he was down to earth and kind to everyone . I believe he is in heaven now .  But I would not have you to be ignorant , brethren , concerning them which are asleep , that you sorrow not even as others which have no hope . 1Thessalonians 4  : 13

My deepest condolences to the family of my beloved uncle mannoe  as we the family called him. He was such a kind and humble man he always had good words of encouragement when ever we communicated words can't express how much the entire family will miss you my uncle you are smiling down on us in heaven right now
