Neil grew up in Waverley NS and was a great friend to my brother and our family.
He never missed a time to come visit with our Mom whenever he was home.

As I sit here waiting for my kids to pick me up to attend Jason's funeral I have mixed emotions.  I am sad that I shall never see or talk to my favourite cousin again, but happy we spent time together just a couple of weeks ago.  On Friday March 8th I drove down to give Jason a hand around the house due to his recent accident.  We spend a lovely day together, talking while he worked and I tided up around the kitchen and living room.  He wanted a fruit salad, so I made him a large salad with blueberries, watermelon, grapes, strawberries, kiwi and bananas, he had two bowls right away and said he wanted to save the rest for the next day, well that didn't happen he finished it that evening and I made him another for the next day.  

We had a lovely dinner together talking about family and fun times from when we were kids down east.  We talked about his wonderful mother my Aunt Lou how we both missed her and her funny ways and her non stop chatter, if only we could hear it one more time.  How I would look forward to my summer vacations at his home by the lake in Nova Scotia and he would look forward to me coming.  He was always waiting at the bus stop for me to get there.  The fun times playing in the woods around his house and of course the lake, swimming and fishing.  How his father Uncle Pat would row us across the lake to pick blueberries for Aunt Lou to make everything blueberries for us to eat.

As adults we managed to stay connected, not matter where he lived or what was happening with me, we always touched base with each other as often as we could.  Over the past few years he would spend the holidays with me and my family and we all appreciated the time we had together.  

I shall carry the memories we made together always - until we meet again my love, give everyone up there big hugs from me.





We know hearts are broken and saddened with the news of Neil.  He  grew up in a little Village called Waverley, NS, my brother  and Neil became good friends,  and we became to know him like a family member. I remember way back when the Montreal Expos played baseball,  my sister, brother and myself would fly to Montreal and would stay with  Neil, we had great times. He loved our Mom and he thought of her as  a second mother.  Neil faithfully called her every year and would call her Mommy Wyse, he made several trips back to Waverley last year to  visit with her, his last one was to celebrate our Mom's 100th birthday in August 2018.  His heart was so kind and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

You used to always tell me how proud you were of me - that I was one of your greatest accomplishments.  From the day we met  to the day you left us has been filled with so much fun and love.  The adventures we had along the 30 year journey will never be forgotten - oh the fun we had! 

From RPM and 15 Sherbourne, introducing me to Trancis which led to the music we made with Uranus "Crazy Hair". There were the Raves - especially Hallo-Rave where you and Zozzi named me Jennstar - You made me FAMOUS which was the beginning of an era.  There was the endless parade of pixie sticks at The Candy Store / Liquid E shop with Mozart, Beethoven and Tyke , KLUBLIFE, the birthday parties where you entertained my Mum and Aunt Barb - and there were all the shows we went to at Rama and Niagara. And you can't forget THE UPGRADES you were the KING of upgrades!!!  These were just a few snippets of the adventures we had.

You touched so many people and always bestowed so much love on everyone you encountered - you have left a void and will be missed but never forgotten... I mean come on - how can you forget DEkO!!!!

Jason came to my rescue during one of the most anxious times of my life.
It was over thirty years ago and I had entered into a relationship with Ken, a man I’d met at a friend’s wedding. It was a whirlwind relationship and within a few months, we bought a house in a small town and moved in together. Exciting times. Exciting and interesting. One day I came home from work early to find Ken missing and in his place Kelly, his alternative persona. Ken is six foot six so Kelly, in her form-fitting blue dress, size fourteen heels and long black wig looked spectacular. The beard non-withstanding, it was like having Elvira in my living room. Before this, I’d had no idea that Kelly existed so to say I was shocked would be an understatement. I knew about drag queens and multiple personalities but cross dressing was not on my radar. This new reality was more than as a “challenge” for me. The worst part was that Kelly didn’t even like me! Things went downhill quickly.
I didn’t know what to do or who to talk to. Kelly wasn’t about to be my confidant. I knew I could talk to Jason but it was private and I couldn’t find the words to tell him right away. He knew something was wrong but he didn’t know what and as my friend he worried about me.  Finally, after a couple of agonizing months I somehow told him. He thought it was hilarious. He laughed so loud and so long that all I could do was to join in. Situation diffused. I hope he knows how thankful I am that he was their when I needed him.
Jason never stopped teasing me about that. He loved to imagine me coming home to find the neighbours watching Kelly mow the lawn in her heels or shoveling the snow, her long black hair in a ponytail and frost on her beard. We got thirty years of good solid laughter out of that story.
