It is with great sadness that the Calvert and Taylor families announce the passing of Brian Calvert.
A great father, grandfather, and friend who left this world on the morning of January 19 at Toronto East General; surrounded by his beloved family.
Brian was born in London, England and earned a Doctorate at the University of St. Andrew's in Scotland.
He moved to Canada to join the faculty at the University of Guelph as a founding member of its Philosophy Department. Brian remained a lover of books, letters, rugby, cricket, Monty Python and of course a leg of lamb.
He is survived by his children, Julian and Miriam, and his grandchildren, Tristan and Harrison.
He joins his beloved wife, Gudrun Perin who passed away in 2011.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Amnesty International, as that is among the charities Brian was passionate about in this life.
A future memorial will take place at the University of Guelph; date TBA.
Brian Calvert was 78.
