Ray was born on March 4, 1936 to the late Raymond J. Kosten, Sr. and Wilhelmina (Anger) Kosten, in Elizabeth, NJ. He grew up in Linden, NJ.
Ray was a United States Marine Corp veteran and worked many years at American Re Munich. He was an active member of the Marine Corps League, the Elks, Knights of Columbus, Moose Lodge and American Legion.
Ray enjoyed his trips to Atlantic City, vacationing in Aruba and volunteering at the Toms River Elks. He was known for his calm demeanor, great story telling and his willingness to lend a hand to others.
Ray is survived by his partner, Rosemarie L. Metz; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Nancy Kosten; his son Kevin Kosten; his son Raymond Kosten; his daughters, Robin D’Anna and Ellen Goldberg; his sister Catherine Wajda; his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Alice Kosten; his nine grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Due to the current restrictions regarding social gathering, Ray’s immediate family will gather privately at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755. His burial will be at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery. Condolences
