Complete Care at Shorrock in Brick, NJ. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Nancy had lived in Port Richmond, Staten
Island before moving to Berkeley Twp., in 1988. Nancy was the co-owner and Operator of The Walker
Shop in Staten Island with her sister Mary for a little over two years. While living in Staten Island, Nancy
was active with the Exceptional Children’s Club of Richmond. Upon moving to Toms River, she ran a craft
club in Holiday City South, organized holiday dinners and celebrations, and was an active participant in
the Italian Club. She also organized trips to Atlantic City for the residents of Holiday City, to name just a
few of her varied interests.
She was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, John Barone.
Nancy was predeceased by her first husband Louis Marotto, her parents, Vergilio and Carmela Comoletti,
her brothers, John, Anthony, Ralph, Ettere, Quentin, Lello, and her sisters, Mary and Laura as well as two
infant siblings. Surviving are her children, Louis Marotto Jr and his wife Renee and Lenore Marrone and
her husband James as well as her loving sister, Theresa Darzano who resides in Arizona. Her cherished
grandchildren James Marrone and Matthew Marotto and their spouses, Lauren and Rachel, and her
three great grandchildren, Rita Grace, Pearl Eloise and Madelyn Rae, who always brought her great joy
and much laughter.
From her second marriage, she is survived by her stepsons, Joseph Barone and his wife Helen and Frank Barone and his wife Laurie. Her grandchildren Christine David, John Barone, Kim Burnett, Alex Barone, Daniel Barone and her four great grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule
Rd., Toms River from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January
14, 2022, 10 am at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church and interment is to follow to St. Peter’s Cemetery,
Staten Island, NY.
